I love, love, love October. Today the girls have a half day of school, so we are planning a First Day of October celebration- complete with pumpkin cookies and hot cocoa. We've got gloom and doom in the form of thunderstorms outside, so it's perfect! Mackie and I spent some time this morning whipping up these cheery "placemats"...
and finished up all the laundry.
What a great way to start my favorite month.
How are you spending the first day of October?

Hmmm...we only have a half-day of school too, but I was thinking of making my kids clean the house or something. Your a much "funner" mom than I am! You've inspired me, though. Maybe I'll try to throw together something fun to do with the kiddos. I love October too!!!
That sounds lovely! Wish I had a half day of work. ;)
Those placemats are adorable. So far we haven't done anything truly Octoberish, except in a few minutes we're going to go pay rent - something we do the 1st day of every month! :P
You are SUCH a great mom!!! That sounds like so much fun.
What are we doing? .... Umm I'm just working like crazy trying to keep up with orders and build inventory for 2 upcoming shows. (and blogging, of course. Haha!)
How fun! Makes me wanna make some cocoa!
Taking the day off work and heading to the State Fair!
That sounds so great! Can we come over? :) I just got back from my first official elementary school field trip, the pumpkin patch with Kindergarteners. It was fun but we're wiped out. Other than that we're sticking close to home. If it weren't 85 degrees out I might be baking as well!
Happy first day of October to you too!!! I celebrated by posting a great giveaway on my blog. Go get yourself entered girl!! hee hee
Hmmm. you know I am usually a positive person. Woke up this morning to sick kids, hubby has a migraine and I'm out of coffee.
You sound like a fun mom! I am going to celebrate October this weekend with my son's soccer game, buying myself a cozy sweater and checking out the Halloween costumes at Target. You have inspired me to put up a few fall items in the house too :)
