Oh, it's permanent. The hairdresser stripped streaks of hair down to bleach blonde and then added a semipermanent red dye- it fades after a few months... so yeah, it's not a wash out. :)
I actually asked my hairdresser for something similar right before Christmas but the red didn't take very well. Maybe if she had done the bleach blonde thing first, it might have.
You have to strip it down- after the streaks were bleached- the hairdresser apllied the red/pink to her whole head (it was quicker) and the color washed right off the brown hair right away- leaving just the bleached streaks colored.
Why not?! I love this. I want to be as cool a mom as you are when my kids are more grown up. LOL! I read a book called "Grace Based Parenting" sometime ago. It had a passage about letting your kids choose their hair color or style or something. If I find it again, I will pass it along. She really is a beautiful girl. This is a great picture. I also like the singer Avril Lavigne's hair with the pink streak. Know what I mean?

Is that permanent dye or a washout? My daughter would probably love something like that!

I think it's great how you give your kids room to be individual, Gina! Good on you & on your kids too! :)
I love it!

I do love it!

Too cool and with her blue eyes it looks even better!
Ahh... youth... I'm still thinking I'll do that to my hair one of these days... but with purple streaks!
