Today dawned bright and clear. As temperatures climbed to almost 60 degrees, we piled into the minivan and traveled north, for almost an hour, to the small town in central Massachusetts that we used to live in. We visited a few OPEN HOUSES and then we hit the park. Although it was bit chillier (50) than at home, it was still sunnier and warmer than we've experienced in awhile. And it felt good to be outside!
Well, until Mackenna found the one slide with the big puddle at the bottom- and couldn't resist it. (There is a standing joke in our family that if we were lost in a desert- Mackie would find us water. Let's just say I wasn't surprised to hear the splash.)
So we changed her into Daddy's jacket and headed home, where we are all amusing ourselves quietly while Daddy whips up a Sunday dinner consisting of roasted chicken, veggies, and hand mashed potatoes. Life is good.
Did you enjoy the sunshine today?

I find the phrase "climbing to the 60s" kind of funny. For me, anything below 65 is downright FREEZING! Brrr!
We would have loved to have been out in the sun, but we didn't have sun here until about 7 tonight. Up until then it was rain, rain, wind and tornado watches! Fun times:)
Glad you had such a wonderful day outside! Love a day at the park:)
You got sunshine? We're getting snow! Not enough to stick, but snow just the same. Nope, spring hasn't found us yet.
Despite having to dash to the basement for a tornado warning.....yes, we did. Later on we splashed in the rain streams running down in front of the house!
happy Sunday!
Sounds like a great day and a very YUMMY dinner!! I love spring Sunday's!!!
yikes- tornado warnings?!?? Glad you guys are okay! Woke up to rain and cold today- glad we had yesterday. :)
Yes, we did spend time outside yesterday. We stayed close to home though, since we had run around too much on Friday and Saturday. I can only handle being busy for a few days in a row!
That looks like such a fun day!
I'm laughing at her finding the puddle. ;-)
And I've been dying to grow sunflowers! I might have to get to Target.
While we're still below 20 here, it is starting to feel warm (believe it or not) and the increased daylight is wonderful! Alaska winters can be pretty dark and depressing...
We've been getting outside more and more this week. After it getting down below negative 40 in January, this feels pretty good :)
