update your front door- it takes less time and money than you think!

Our house is white with black shutters.

This was our front door before...

Very common. Uninspired. Barely there.

So, I painted it black.
With two coats of exterior paint...

It was still missing "something".

I was very inspired by several doors I've seen online that had "No. (your number(s) here)" painted on them.  However, making a stencil, buying white exterior paint and painting it out seemed, well, like a lot of work.  So I procrastinated a bit.  Online.  And found a post about personalized home address decals at Our Suburban Cottage. AnNicole was giving one away there- but I couldn't wait, so I ordered one myself ...

at Xpres Urself - for only $6.00!  I had it ordered, paid for and on my door in just 5 days!  Applying it took just 15 minutes. And the result is a banging front door - if I do say so myself.

Now for a wreath...

It came out so nice - love it!! Thanks for the shout out and the order Gina - I really appreciate it! Good luck on the wreath hunt - do you have a TJ Maxx or Home Goods in your area? I have found some really cute wreaths and stuff there before -

Have a great week -

I do. And I have $3-something left on a HomeGoods giftcard- just enough to get a little bit of a "deal". I should get my butt there!

I had the same door at my old house. I went red with mine though. Love the new numbers on yours! :o)

LOVE the door No.'s!!! I'm totally stealing that idea when, someday, I get my own grown up big house to call my own!

I think the black door, with the white decal go perfect together. What a great job you did, Gina! And I'm so proud of you for accomplishing all these fun home projects that scare the bejeebers out of me. (don't ask me why, i don't know... i think i'm just weird)

That looks so nice!!

I'm laughing because those are the exact doors we put into our flip houses. But it's a HUGE improvement from the previous doors that are usually rotted wood, 70's style, plastic windows...

It looks so good! I'll bet you keep your door open all day just so you can look at it :).

What a difference a black door can make! Looks so great against your light walls. And the vinyl numbers are very up to date chic!

Awesome! Thanks for linking up to the party!

Black is one of my favorite colors, and that door looks 100 times better in the darker color!
