I was out and about with the girls and my camera yesterday and vaguely remembered this photograph series that Beki was doing with her kids. I gave it a go and we had fun seeing the shapes in everyday objects. Now that I'm home and critiquing my shots, and after looking up and rereading her post, I realize I don't have to crop my pictures in so close around the shape. I think it actually looks better to give a glimpse of around the shape- it actually highlights the shape better. I am definitely going to "give it another shot".
(pun intended)

please note: you really need to click on the collage to see it full size to appreciate the photographs.
I like it and I really like the idea of looking for similar things and collaging them.
BTW silly question. How do you storyboard them like that? I use CS2 for all my editing, but I don't know how to do this.
I use picasa (a free editing program that lets you publish your directly to a blogger post) and they have a nifty collage maker that's tons of fun to play with!
That's fun. You found some really interesting circles. I did something like this with my kids last summer, but I made them find the alphabet in nature. One of our favs was the J our cat's tail made.
Kat, yes, we found a Y yesterday - a stick- and I was thinking of doing the alphabet at some point. The fun we can have with this collection series is endless! I like how it really gets us looking at everything around us!
I love it!!
I love the collage that you put together. I want to do that with our next collection (repeating lines). I think it shows them off better.
Fantastic! What a great idea. I love all the things they found.
great idea & pictures!
