before & after: upstairs bath

Finally. A minute to upload and sort out some of the photos I've been taking of our new house. Since time is, well, precious- I'm using the MLS listing pictures as my befores. So the furniture/belongings are the previous owners in those. We have, at this point, just painted, cleaned, and moved our furniture in... the decorating still needs to be done. Here's the room we changed the most- I knew from the moment we viewed this house what I wanted to do...

BEFORE:

AFTER:

See how green the Briny Deep looks? It was actually bluer on the chip we had, and I liked it better more blue than green, but I still love the overall effect. STILL TO DO: I am looking for a quirky wood and hook type towel holder to replace the standard silver bar one we took down. And eventually, I am going to change out the sink faucet(done!) and shower head. And I'd love to get a new counter top someday...
Love before and afters? Check my other ones out and then head to Metamorphosis Monday and...

I like the new colors. What color towels and such are you going to use?

White! They have these great textured grooves (like lines, but better) in them. I got the matching face clothes and hand towels too - they also work in my master 1/2 bath but I then got a pack of bright, sherbet colored face cloths for the girls who were bummed about plain white towels. :)

And thanks. :)

Wow, what a huge difference. You went from mid-80's bathroom, right smack dab into 2009! I love, love, love that color on the walls, with the painted white wainscoting and trim pieces.

Beautiful! The color looks blue on my computer. We just redid our master bath - unfortunately not with wainscoting or beadboard, but someday. I couldn't find the towel rack I wanted, so we made one of our own. We bought chrome hooks we liked and mounted them on molding we bought at Home Depot. Ooh, I might have a photo I could email to you. I'll have to check. Anyway, good luck with your new home. I'm excited for you. Patty

I do have a photo of our towel rack, if you're interested, but cannot find your email address.

If I didn't know better, I would have thought they were different bathrooms. Great paint job!

Mamabear- thanks! The house was built in 99, which is probably the only thing that kept it from having the gold fixtures too. lol.

Tan family- Ha, ha. I don't think they'd have me after they read what I wrote about their TV stand from WalMArt in tomorrow's post.
Holly- painting that beadboard was a horrible experience but I lived to love the results. :)

And patty and anyone else- send me your idea pics and links, now and always!! I have a whole house to put the finishing touches on...

or link to a post here. Leave me a link, in case I use your idea, I will give due credit on the blog. :)

So many of you inspire me daily... or as often as I can read lately- which hasn't been much. :(

Amida- gotta love the power of paint. Two coats kilz oil based primer and two coats of one coat super white. :)
