Tomorrow, you're only a day away!

Yup, only one day to my romantic weekend getaway with John. I am so excited- this is only the third time in 4 years that we are spending a night without at least one of the girls and the first time in over 6 years that we are spending more than 24 hours alone together! Situations being what they are, we look for ways to keep the romance alive within the confines of a big family. Laughing together is key for us, I think. If we didn't laugh often, we would probably have fallen apart long ago. How do you all keep your marriages/relationships strong? What's important? Any tried and true tips for a quick jolt of spice/romance?

I'd love to hear any stories or ideas you all have...

Nice to meet you - you're lucky to to get away.

I see you have girls. Allow me to introduce myself. I write a girl empowerment blog at So Sioux Me http://www.sosiouxme.com. Maybe you'd enjoy it.

A few glasses of wine on my part usually causes a 'quick jolt of spice/romance' here. hahahaha!

Have fun!

Funny you should blog about this. Steve and I recently talked about this. We too think laughter and just plain fun is a huge help. Communication is a big one too. Getting out by yourselves and remembering why you fell in love does not hurt either.

My husband and I had great fun one night with lemon pudding, used in strategic locations. Tasty and Funny. We laughed alot. Now don't think I'm crazy but if you like dark chocolate go search "dick hats" and watch the utube video. I haven't ordered one yet but these have to be hysterically funny to use, play with .........whatever

I hope you had a great time!

I think what keeps me and hubby going strong is that we don't take anything too seriously and we love spontaneity.

So Be impulsive! Go crazy! Do something silly and make a memory! Then go and make hot fudge sundaes all night long!! :)
