NO COOK! homemade play dough

The last rainy morning we had, the littles(ages 7 and 5) were thrilled to find a recipe online for play dough they could make completely by themselves.  It 's simple to make...

You only need:

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. salt
  • 1 TBSP cooking oil
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 2 drops of food coloring

Then  just:
  • Combine flour and salt, add the other three ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Knead well.

And that's it!

Does it work as well as real Playdough, Gina?

Since I HATE the smell of real Play-Doh, the kids have only used a handful of times at my sister's house(and such). However, I think the real fun for them with this batch was the measuring, mixing, kneading of it. They did "play" with it a bit. But the making of it seemed the most fun.

Oh my goodness. I will have to try this with my girls. I made that horible cook on the stove kind, and I can never get it quite right. Always comes out too stcky and messy.
